Founded in 2011 our client is a growing immigration law specialist and Registered Migration Advisor providing their clients with quality immigration services. As one of the largest specialist immigration firms in Australia they have a track record of consistent growth and delivering on their clients needs from initial consultations to sponsorship arrangements visa PR and citizenship applications and more complex matters.
About The Role
The Immigration Assistant/Paralegal plays an important role in the immigration team supporting immigration lawyers and the senior registered migration agent to deliver services to end clients in a timely and quality manner supporting them on their journey to Australia.
The key duties of the role include:
- Assisting the immigration team with file management day to day enquiries document collection and drafting visa and related applications.
- Follow up with clients to obtain correct or additional documents and information as directed by the supervising Migration Agent or Lawyer
- Carry out legal research as directed
- Maintain internal databases to ensure client records and information are up to date and accurate
- Assist with booking appointments scheduling meetings and other adhoc client matters
- Assist in the preparation of other supporting documents such as submissions formatting of documents etc.
- Maintain and update templates and contribute to continuous improvement activities to enhance the client experience
Requirements
About You
To be successful in your application you will:
- Be available to work 40 hours per week over 5 days (flexible scheduling available with majority of hours between 9:00am 5:30pm ACST)
- Have a dedicated space to work from (100% workfromhome)
- Have suitable ancillary equipment (e.g. second monitor and peripherals) Laptop provided
- Have reliable internet and electricity connections (and suitable backups)
You will also have:
- Law degree (highly regarded) or a tertiary Paralegal qualification (or extensive relevant experience in lieu of qualification)
- >2 years experience in migration processes and law (highly desirable)
- Excellent English (both written and verbal)
- Strong MS Office suite skills and experience
- Strong Adobe suite skills and experience
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Highly organised and proactive
