Overview
The Activity Manager is responsible for the overall smooth running of the activity and excursion programme. The AM will facilitate a positive and fun environment for the students. An overview of the role follows:
- Manage the activity team
- Complete weekly rota and timesheets for activity staff
- Ensure social programme (excursions and activities) run effectively
Your role & responsibilities
- Reporting to and liaising with the Programme Manager and Head Office
- Providing onthejob training for ANGLO Leaders upon their arrival
- Undertaking general administration including submitting weekly timesheets to head office
- Creating and following a weekly rota showing activity staff duties and time off
- Planning and organising the social programme (excursions and activities) in line with the weekly timetable
- Liaising with PM to confirm bookings for campus facilities and DJ bookings
- Liaising with PM to confirm numbers for excursions entrances and transport/entrance tickets
- Working with the SWO to promote and oversee the safety and welfare of students on all activities by ensuring adequate staffing and precautionary procedures including covering these responsibilities when the SWO is unavailable
- Liaising with Distribution team at Head Office to manage inventory; broken missing or insufficient items
- Ensuring there are clear channels of communication with the management team at centre university staff and Head Office
- Being involved in all aspects of the activity programme ensuring that they operate smoothly
- Liaising with the Workshop & Teaching Supervisor (WTS) to ensure ANGLO leaders are fully prepared for their workshop sessions to share feedback on their performance and to coordinate any necessary changes
- Reading and following the guidelines and rules set out in the Staff Handbook and ANGLO Leader manual
- Being the face of ANGLO by wearing any provided uniform and implementing ANGLO s Ethos of care
Requirements
Essential (Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements)
- You have the right to work 40 hours per week in the UK between June and August
- You attend the mandatory training weekend in London from 13th to 15th June
- Confident leading and motivating teams
- Able to delegate tasks to ensure all deadlines are met
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills team player attitude
- Ability to work under pressure strong work ethic and ability to implement change at short notice
- Approachable creative energetic and enthusiastic
- Demonstrate strong organisational and problemsolving skills
- Computer literate and competent with Google products (Drive Docs Sheets Gmail etc.)
- Committed to continuing professional development
Desirable
- Previous experience as an Activity Leader Activity Manager or other relevant Management experience
- Experience in leading/training a sports team or similar environment
- Experience of working with children/teenagers in a similar environment
- Route planning experience
- Degree in related field
- First aid or lifeguarding qualification
Benefits
PAY: 699.32 per week based on 48 hours holiday pay included. No overtime payment unless agreed with Head Office.
BED & BOARD: Residential position. Full bed and board
HOURS: Average 48 hours per week. You may be required to work in excess of 48 hours per week. Evening and weekend work are required. You work a six day week and get one full day off per week.
CONTRACT: Temporary fixed term
PREPARATION: Safeguarding training and timetabling information provided before you start.
