Job Description

Cloud Migration Technician

The impact you will have:

You work closely with the Cloud Migration Architects and Cloud Migration Engineers during the delivery of a cloud migration project. As our Cloud Migration Technician you will perform setup and seeding of VM and Database migrations from source platforms to cloudbased destination platforms.

What you ll do:

Install migration tool discovery systems and agents on source Virtual Machines
Initiate presynchronization and replication of data and VMs
Monitor the status of the migration tools and report on successes and failures
Perform initial diagnostics on migration tool provisioning presynchronization and premigration testing to resolve issues found
Execute migration plans for cutover and golive phases
Perform postmigration testing and verification
Confirm successful migration and cutover of Virtual Machines and data

You will work with Softchoice s customers across North America in these pursuits. These services will include projects targeting Google Cloud Azure AWS and VMware on Cloud destinations.

Cloud Migration and Analysis tools that may include:

Azure Migrate
Azure Site Recovery
AWS Migration Service
AWS Database Migration Service
Google Cloud Migrate for Compute Engine
VMware tools
CloudEndure
Cloudamize
Cloudscape
Others as needed

Requirements

What you ll bring to the table:

A desire to build your career in cloud with a proven track record of fast learning and agility in gaining technology experience at a global leader in Cloud at Softchoice

Prior experience in a solutions delivery capacity will be rewarded

Ownership to ensure that Softchoice s customers are satisfied with the quality timeliness and efficiency of the professional services received

Capacity to build trust and relationships with customers and coworkers ensuring favorable postengagement survey results

Previous experience implementing multiple types of engagements as noted above

Strong communication skills including technical writing skills and the ability to listen and understand client issues

Vendor certifications including Google Cloud Microsoft and Amazon certifications will be rewarded

Demonstrates a strong passion for learning and a genuine enthusiasm for technology.

Bachelor s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience will be rewarded

Open to working Monday to Friday CST (Central Standard Time)

Open to working in a remote/workfromhome setup
