Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team. This role is pivotal in supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of students providing assessment intervention and consultation services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in psychotherapy crisis management and behavioral health with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Duties
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions focusing on emotional regulation social skills development and coping strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers parents and other professionals to create supportive educational plans tailored to each students unique challenges.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies for students experiencing acute emotional distress or behavioral issues.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary ensuring effective support throughout the academic year.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Participate in early intervention programs to support atrisk students and promote positive mental health practices within the school community.
- Provide training and resources for staff on mental health awareness crisis management and effective communication with students facing challenges.
Requirements
- A Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field is required.
- Valid state licensure or certification as a School Psychologist.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to psychological assessments and interventions.
- Experience in patient assessment techniques and familiarity with behavioral health practices.
- Proficiency in crisis management and intervention strategies for children and adolescents.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students families and staff members.
- Prior experience in social work or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of psychology and education.
