Job Description

About the position


The Alliance Bioversity International and CIAT is seeking for applications from a suitable and qualified candidates for the position of Accounts Intern to support our Malawi Finance Office with essential coordination reporting and administrative task. The role is designed to enhance team operations and communication contributing to an organized and efficient work environment.


Key Duties & Responsibilities


  • Support in payment processing by ensuring all payments are adequately supported authorized and registered into the system on a timely basis.
  • Assist in compilation of VAT claims.
  • Assist in compiling withholding tax information on the MRA Msonkho platform online.
  • Assist in processing travel advance requests vouchers and legalization from staff on completion of activities and any necessary communications/follow up required to close staff account.
  • Assist on month end processes as be assigned.
  • Provide support in both external and internal audit processes.
  • Consolidating Photocopying scanning and printing of all finance related documents as appropriate.
  • Provide support in both external and internal audit processes.
  • Perform any other financerelated duties as assigned on an ongoing basis.


Requirements



  • Degree in Business Administration (Accounting/Finance option) or relevant field.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision but also participate as a team member in accomplishment of duties.
  • At least one (1) year of work experience in a similar position preferably gained in an international organization.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity.
  • Ability to coordinate prioritize and organize workload; take initiative and work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills with a positive attitude and a good service orientation.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Commitment to the Alliance s mission and core values.

Terms of Employment

This position is a nationally recruited position based in Lilongwe Malawi. The initial contract will be for a period of six (6) months and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
