Position Overview
The Program Management Office is seeking a Program Portfolio Manager Technical Dependencies to join our team at (Client Name). In this role you will lead the mapping and alignment of key program milestone dependencies across active product development programs.
This position reports directly to Associate Director Program Portfolio Management.
In this role you will serve as a central resource to identify align and steer program interdependencies such as: vehicle requirements design releases hardware and software pedigree prototype builds validation activities test asset configurations and product launches.
This position is hybrid and does require everyone in the office 3 days per week
Responsibilities
- Maps interdependent key milestones within assigned program portfolio
- Creates and socializes detailed contingency plans to proactively manage dependency risks before they become issues
- Leverages past design requirements and validation experience to anticipate roadblocks and delays offering guidance to program teams
- Protects critical strategic company deliverables by championing recovery plans when issues develop
- Mentors Program Analysts and Program Managers on best practices for planning and dependencies to avoid delays missed launches and cost overages
- Maps full implications of scope changes to clearly socialize impacts before approval
- Applies lessons learned to support programs navigating through critical dependencies ensuring alignment to charter and overall program health
Minimum Requirements
- Masters degree
- At least 6 years of technical project/program management experience
- At least 1 year of lead experience
OR - Bachelors degree
- At least 8 years of technical project/program management experience
- At least 1 year of lead experience
OR
- At least 10 years of technical project/program management experience
- At least 1 year of lead experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates excluding current Navistar employees must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen Legal Permanent Resident Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
- Experience setting vehicle subsystem or component requirements
- Experience performing / managing vehicle validation activities
- Experience with product roadmap / interdependent programs
- Familiarity with configuration management and change control processes
- Ability to assemble detailed project plans with ambitious but achievable milestones
- Efficiently address the needs of multiple projects on a daytoday basis
- Strong communication skills
- High sense of urgency
- Experience with vehicle features/systems
- Experience with manufacturing processes
- Ability to plan estimate execute within budget/schedule
- Ability to interface with customers/suppliers/coworkers to get results
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
- Must be willing to work onsite 3 days a week
