As part of the replication strategy and according to the engineering sequence of the civil activities the civil organization of the client is responsible for the assessment and justification of the Responsible Designers deliverables for the Project.
The Contract Engineering Manager in charge of the civil activities for the New Buildings will be responsible for the management of multiple civil engineering design contracts for the project. They will be ultimately responsible to provide the technical specifications and to ensure that they are in line with the contract holder.
The Contract Engineering Manager will report to the Civil Team lead. Other interfaces within the client will include those with civil engineers scheduling and cost control teams. Outside of the client the Civil Contract Manager will work with their associated contract holder but also with the Responsible Designers Project Management Office (PMO) procurement department and potentially legal teams. Interfaces will also exist with different entities with the client organisation.
Main Activities of the Contract Engineering Manager for the civil activities in the New Buildings Team : o Technical responsibilities:
Technical support with building specific civil related topics requiring a good level of expertise in Design. This may imply production of specific deliverables participation to meetings review of documents produced by others (internal or external stakeholders)
Leading technical specifications reviews and surveillance
Contribute and participate to lessons learnt process linked to their field of responsibilities. o Related to the contract engineering leading :
Ensuring the specifications are followed by the contract holder
Managing the technical surveillance of studies Establish surveillance programme(s) and annual surveillance reports Managing the resolution of contractor technical queries
Organise and run weekly and monthly progress meetings Develop and improve contracts tools
Lead contractual discussions and clarifications.
Qualifications :
Qualifications and experience: Bachelors / Masters degree in civil engineering Working experience on civil design engineering Experience in the nuclear sector would be advantageous. Knowledge and technical skills: Essential: Knowledge and understanding of the Codes & Standards on CW Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations.

Initial 12 month contract hourly paid inside IR35 or fixed term.
