Job Description
Role: SAP Onsite principal technical lead (Program Level) Downstream Oil & Gas
Location: Ft. Lauderdale Area FL hybrid
Duration: 12 Months
Experience Needed: 1218 Years
Note: For this role the client requires an S/4HANA Principal Technical Lead with expertise in SAP S/4HANA BTP (Business Technology Platform) and its integrations with SAP modules including MM SD FI/CO PM and ISOil.
Overview:
We seek a highly experienced and strategic SAP Onsite principal technical lead (Program Level) to lead and oversee the implementation and optimization of SAP S/4HANA solutions for our clients who are into downstream oil and gas operations. This role requires a deep understanding of SAP modules relevant to the oil and gas industry and a proven ability to deliver enterprisescale solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Solution Architecture and Design:
- Lead the design and architecture of SAP S/4HANA BTP solutions tailored to downstream oil and gas business processes including marketing distribution and trading.
- Ensure alignment of SAP S/4HANA including ISOil capabilities with business objectives regulatory compliance and industry best practices.
- Develop and document endtoend architecture of BTP (Business Technology Platform) for complex business processes spanning multiple SAP Applications and modules (e.g.S/4HANA MM SD FI/CO PM PS and ISOilTraders Schedule Workbench; CXCPQ Sales Service; Commodity Price Engine(CPE)).
- Keep in mind processes like QuotetoCash and ProcuretoPay while designing.
- BTP coverage include functionalities/services such as Integration Suite Optical Character Recognition (OCR) SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) etc.
Implementation Leadership:
- Guide the full lifecycle implementation of SAP S/4HANA leveraging SAP Activate Methodology including Discover Prepare Explore Realize Deploy and Run.
- Oversee data migration strategies and integration with thirdparty systems ensuring seamless functionality and data integrity.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical and functional teams providing handson leadership and mentorship.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with business leaders and crossfunctional teams to identify and prioritize SAP S/4HANA initiatives.
- Facilitate workshops and design sessions to understand business needs and recommend solutions.
- Present architecture proposals and project updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Performance Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization within the SAP S/4HANA environment.
- Provide technical leadership for performance tuning system upgrades and scalability enhancements.
Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure all solutions adhere to organizational IT standards industry regulations and SAP best practices.
- Establish and enforce governance policies for SAP S/4HANA usage and customization.
- Understanding of SAP Cloud Application Lifecycle Management is a plus
Qualifications and Skills: Education and Experience:
- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science Information Technology Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of SAP experience with 5 years in a principal architect or leadership role.
- Extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA implementations specifically in downstream oil and gas industries.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA BTP (Business Technology Platform) and its integrations with SAP modules like MM SD FI/CO PM and ISOil.
- Strong understanding of SAP Best Practices for Oil & Gas (e.g. Hydrocarbon Product Management Secondary Distribution and Energy Pricing).
- Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 Architectural understanding of programming models CAP (cloud application programming) and RAP (RESTful ABAP programming) CDS Views AI/ML etc. is a plus.
- Knowledge of integration tools (e.g. SAP PI/PO APIs) and data migration frameworks.
Leadership and Communication:
- Exceptional ability to lead crossfunctional teams and manage complex project environments.
- Strong problemsolving skills with a consultative mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present complex ideas to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP certifications (e.g. SAP S/4HANA Architecture SAP ISOil).
- Experience with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
- Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives in the oil and gas sector.
