Summary:
Position Overview:
The Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading and managing the engineering team to optimize manufacturing processes ensure the seamless operation of equipment and maintain safety and quality standards. This role requires a strategic leader who can provide technical expertise develop and implement engineering solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency across all stages of production.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the engineering team to maintain a safe efficient and reliable production environment.
- Oversee the installation maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Implement and optimize process improvements that enhance product quality reduce waste and increase overall manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including Production Quality Assurance and Research & Development to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
- Develop and execute a preventative maintenance program for all critical machinery and systems.
- Ensure compliance with all local state and federal regulations related to food safety equipment standards and environmental concerns.
- Lead capital improvement projects including equipment upgrades process changes and system enhancements from planning to execution.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to engineering staff and plant personnel to improve skill sets and knowledge across the team.
- Monitor and manage engineering budgets ensuring costeffective solutions for equipment and process upgrades.
- Drive innovation in automation data analysis and lean manufacturing practices to enhance the companys manufacturing capabilities.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and practices that can improve operational efficiencies and product quality.
Skills/Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical Industrial or related field).
- 5 years of experience in engineering leadership roles within a food manufacturing or similar industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of food production processes machinery and food safety regulations.
- Proven track record in leading engineering teams and managing complex technical projects.
- Expertise in process optimization lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Solid understanding of electrical mechanical and automation systems used in manufacturing.
- Excellent problemsolving skills with a focus on finding practical efficient solutions in a fastpaced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams at all levels.
- Proficiency in engineering design software (AutoCAD SolidWorks etc.) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is a plus.
- Project management experience with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with sustainability practices and a passion for food industry advancements is highly desirable.
