Job Overview:
As a Property Accountant youll play a vital role in providing financial and accounting support to a dynamic property management team and clients. This position is ideal for detailoriented professionals with a background in commercial real estate accounting who thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to grow in their careers. Youll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records preparing reports analyzing financial data and supporting decisionmaking processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports and statements.
- Accounts Receivable: Record payment receipts review and bill tenant recurring charges reconcile tenant ledgers and monitor collections.
- Accounts Payable: Process invoices with proper coding and approvals assist in monthly check runs and maintain a thorough audit trail.
- Tenant Billing: Review leases to ensure accurate billing and process invoices for utilities reimbursements and other tenantrelated charges.
- Budgeting: Assist with annual budget preparation including compiling assumptions maintaining leaselevel budgets and estimating miscellaneous income.
- Quarterly Forecasting: Prepare quarterly forecasts and contribute to financial reports.
- YearEnd Reconciliation: Handle CAM percentage rent insurance utilities sewer/trash and real estate tax reconciliations.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 35 years of commercial real estate accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Yardi real estate accounting software is required.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel.
- Exceptional organizational analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and handle ambiguity with confidence.
