Job Description

We are looking for a PR Account Executive with a minimum of six months experience* in a public relations role (inhouse or agency side) to join us and support across our exciting mix of luxury lifestyle and drinks brands.

Working across our Taste and Spey drinks teams the ideal candidate will be passionate about food drink tourism and hospitality and driven to take the next step in their career.

Were looking for someone creative who has excellent writing skills takes great care of their work and pays attention to detail can manage time effectively and who wants to learn and grow as part of our dynamic team.

Ideally this role will be located in our Edinburgh office with flexibility to work from home via our work where you want to work policy however other locations will be considered with the commitment of travelling to the Edinburgh office fortnightly.

* this specific role is only open to candidates with at least six months industry work experience if you do not have experience then a trainee role would be better suited to you. We are not currently recruiting for entry level trainees but you can register your interest here and we will keep you posted when we next recruit trainees.


PR and digital skills

  • Possesses writing skills for key client documents with strong attention to detail using a range of appropriate styles editorial and business copy: briefing materials releases features case studies newsletters web site copy miniproposals bylined articles etc.
  • Understands and uses social and digital media platforms effectively on behalf of clients working with the digital team as required.
  • Demonstrates effective project planning.
  • Builds media relations skills making and keeping contacts; handling journalist enquiries; creative pitching of stories; knowledge of the media landscape.
  • Builds influencer relations skills making and keeping contacts identifying suitable and credible partners for client campaigns and managing partnerships with input from the wider team while keeping abreast of current regulations.
  • Consistently works to quality standards.

Administrative/agency operations

  • Effectively uses and manages own time and demonstrates an understanding of the importance of deadlines.
  • Demonstrates effective time reporting.
  • Develops activity plans and compiles status reports.
  • Develops familiarity with the organisation supports the companys core vision and values.
  • Demonstrates proactive and positive contributions at all times.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with current affairs and business issues.
  • Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office packages including Word Excel Powerpoint and Outlook.

Client services

  • Develops editorial planning follow up and evaluation.
  • Develops personal profile and begins to build relationship with clients demonstrates proactive interaction and rapportbuilding. Becomes secondary point of contact for client in absence of Account Manager.
  • Understands the wider PR and marketing mix to support the team in maximising revenue opportunities.
  • Demonstrates growing awareness of relevant sectors including key players and issues.
  • Develops research skills plus analysis and assimilation of information.
  • Assists Account Manager in briefing of suppliers and freelancers.
  • Demonstrates effective team communication (keeps managers informed).

Account management and strategic thinking and planning

  • Demonstrates knowledge of and effective use of daytoday resources (on and offline).
  • Contributes to budget and programme planning.
  • Prepares and plans for projects.
  • Shares ideas proactively and participates in agency brainstorms.
  • Manages client and team / manager expectations.

Business development

  • Provides research on industry topics issues and competitors in support of the new business process.
  • Contributes to proposal development offers creative input and ideas for new business process.
  • Starts to develop presentation skills for pitches.

People management

  • Begins to build supervisory skills by coaching and assisting graduates and interns.
  • Develops good team relationships; communicates in a constructive and timely fashion.

The salary band for this role starts at 22000 per annum.
