Job Description
1. ROLE PURPOSE
As a Sr Engineer he/she plays a crucial role in providing expert technical guidance and leadership to the diverse portfolio of projects. He/she will be responsible for executing various Electrical assignments ensuring the delivery of highquality solutions to the clients. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams mentoring junior Engineers and designers. Collaborating with Client/Vendor Requirements for Substation Design for AIS GIS Substations Underground cable and overhead transmission line works and develop drawings/documents for Primary Electrical Design that meet project goals and operational standards.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Project Management: Lead and manage multiple Electrical engineering projects from inception to completion. This includes establishing project objectives creating work plans managing resources and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Technical Expertise: Apply extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices to develop innovative solutions for the clients challenges. Provide advice on complex technical issues and offer guidance on best practices.
- Design and Analysis: Conduct detailed of primary electrical design and analysis for various systems components and equipment. This includes evaluating performance efficiency safety and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their requirements preferences and objectives. Develop strong professional relationships and effectively communicate technical concepts and project progress to clients.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers in their professional development. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment encouraging knowledge sharing and skills enhancement.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all Electrical deliverables meet the highest quality standards. Conduct thorough reviews of designs reports and documents to verify accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical design technologies tools and methodologies. Identify opportunities for process improvement and actively contribute to the enhancement of our engineering practices.
- Health Safety and Environmental Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility in all engineering projects. Adhere to relevant regulations and implement appropriate safety measures.
3. KEY RESULT AREAS
Project Delivery:
Achieve an average project completion rate of 95%98% within the specified timeline.
Ensure that 90%95% of projects meet or exceed client expectations and receive positive feedback.
Technical Excellence:
Reduce design errors and rework by 20%30% through thorough reviews and verification processes.
Implement 24 new design improvements or innovative solutions that enhance project efficiency or performance.
Client Satisfaction:
Maintain a client satisfaction score of 90%95% based on postproject surveys.
Team Development:
Conduct 24 training sessions or workshops to enhance the skills of the Junior Engineers and designers in the team.
Facilitate the professional growth of team members resulting in a 10%15% improvement in their performance evaluations.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
Years of Experience/ Sector
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Primary Electrical design engineer within a consulting firm or a similar industry.
Additional Information :
JobSpecific Skills:
- Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD Revit MicroStation) to create 2D and 3D technical drawings.
- Experience in substation and transmission line design works
- Preparation of equipment layouts sections cable routes cable raceway grounding shielding lighting power duct bank drawings etc.
- Preparation of architectural plans sections details structural drawings outdoor foundations drawings grading plans etc.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and errorfree drawings.
- Knowledge of engineering principles drafting standards and best practices.
- Familiarity with engineering terminology and concepts.
Generic Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing project requirements.
Revit Training: Stay proficient in industrystandard computeraided design building information modelling (BIM) software.
