Roles and responsibilities
Operations Management
- Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including order fulfilment, inventory management, and logistics.
- Implement and optimize operational processes/warehouse layout to enhance operational efficiency & productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and resolve any operational challenges.
- Expiry Management (FIFO, RTV, Wastage Management, Damage Handling)
2. Quality Assurance
- Maintain high-quality service standards for marketplace deliveries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Implement and enforce quality assurance protocols to improve customer satisfaction & minimize post-delivery complaint rate.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and operational procedures.
3. Vendor Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors/merchants, serving as the primary point of contact from Ops.
- Collaborate with merchants/vendors to optimize stock inbounding, inventory management and order processing.
4. Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with commercial, product, logistics, & finance teams to ensure smooth and seamless operations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, leading by example and promoting teamwork and cooperation.
5. Facility Management
- Oversee facility maintenance to ensure a safe and functional working environment for the team.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for facility-related services, such as cleaning, air conditioning, maintenance, and repairs.
- Implement measures to optimize facility utilization and minimize operational disruptions.
6. Learning and Development (L&D)
- Develop and implement training programs for store staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Identify L&D needs and opportunities for continuous improvement within the team.
- Foster a culture of learning and development, encouraging employees to pursue growth opportunities and career advancement.
7. Data Analysis
- Utilize data analytics to monitor operational performance metrics, identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
- Implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Provide regular reports and updates to management on key performance indicators and operational insights.
8. Team Management
- Manage & direct the on-ground operations team to ensure seamless operations.
- Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational efficiency, customer service, and team performance.
- Develop and implement employee development plans and conduct skill gap analysis to identify training needs.
- Drive efficiency gains and ensure effective interdepartmental communication to achieve organizational goals.
Desired candidate profile
- At least bachelors in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- 2-4 years of proven experience in operations & carrier management, preferably in the e-commerce industry.
- Familiarity with supporting vendor relationships & participating in supply term negotiations.
- Someone who is always curious to learn.
- Solution-oriented & a problem solver.
- Strong ability to analyze & utilize data to drive decision making & process improvement.
- Strategic, analytical & tactical abilities to navigate the space & breed new ideas.
- Fluency in English, both written & spoken (Arabic will be a big plus)
- Experience working with inventory management/warehouse management systems (preferably Odoo Enterprise)
- Experience working with 3PLs & Transportation providers.
- The ability to build & supervise a team & engage team members within a dynamic e-commerce environment .
- Experience in both in-stock and consignment inventory models
