Job Description
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To perform MIG TIG and ARC welding on various metal components and structures with a high attention to detail precision and with a firm commitment to safety. To be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and welding symbols.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Read and interpret blueprints schematics and welding symbols to determine project specifications.
Measure and mark workpieces using templates rulers and measuring instruments.
Select and set up welding equipment including selecting the appropriate welding method based on material type and thickness.
Clean prepare and inspect workpieces to ensure proper welding conditions and quality control.
To ensure the correct use of welding equipment and it is used appropriately throughout the course of the job.
Ensure welding equipment and tools are cleaned securely replaced and routinely maintained to ensure its proper functioning and safety and report defective equipment immediately.
Monitor welding performance and adjust settings as necessary to maintain quality and productivity.
Conduct visual inspections of welded joints to detect defects and ensure compliance with welding standards and specifications.
Work with other members of the Garage team and supervisors to ensure welding projects are completed in a timely fashion to meet the demands of the business.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
To fully comply with Terms & Condition established for this position.
To ensure issued/received Personal Protection Equipment is always maintained in a hygienic condition and used throughout the course of your related duties.
To implement instructions given to you by your direct Line Manager
To fully comply with Company Quality Safety & Health & Safety policy and procedures related to your position.
To carry out such further tasks and duties as may from time to time be delegated by your Line Manager.
Be prepared to work overtime from time to time.
