Job Position: Processing Operator

Location: Joplin MO 64804
Pay Rate: $17.50/hr
Shift: Monday Thursday 3:30 PM 1:30 AM

Job Description

This is a versatile role in manufacturing processes reporting directly to shift managers. Responsibilities include inbound operations milling mixing die roll and oven activities.

Primary Responsibilities

Mill and Mixing Rooms / Die Roll:

  • Schedule and batch commodities and/or meat slurry into accurate batches using hammer mill mixing and screening systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and downtime repairs on equipment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance/engineering for system upgrades and improvements.
  • Conduct quality checks and complete documentation accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Promote a team environment through teamwork and selfmanagement.
  • Perform QC tasks such as metal checks date code inspection item number checks and dump logs.

Ovens:

  • Safely operate oven/dryer equipment while ensuring product quality.
  • Complete all necessary reports accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with QA to address and resolve quality issues ensuring target specifications are met.
  • Report downtimes immediately to Manager Maintenance or QA when not resolvable by the operator.
  • Meet or exceed productivity goals for the shift.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum 3 years of production experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Reliable transportation and stable work history.
  • Capable of working at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
  • Fluent in English (ability to understand production schedules and communicate effectively).
  • Knowledge of food safety GMP GHOP HACCP and SPC principles.
  • Adaptable to temperature extremes and environmental factors such as dust dirt and chemicals.
  • Strong inventory control skills.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials (PPE provided).
  • Must pass a preemployment drug screen.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with daily production schedules and operational execution.
  • Effective communication of production quality or critical business information to managers and team members.
