Roles and responsibilities

This exciting role demands management of end-to-end cargo processes, and drives cross-functional collaboration to achieve business priorities.

Key responsibilities include implementing digital solutions, managing third-party distribution strategies, enhancing cargo systems, ensuring compliance with audit and revenue standards, and maintaining the ISARP-standard Cargo Manual.

Further, you will lead the cargo revenue accounting process across the network ensuring customer billing, payments, receivables and debt integrity collaborating closely with Revenue Accounting and Finance.

Strategic Planning and Forecasting
Developing Plans: Create and manage long-term and short-term plans for projects, production, or operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and business strategies.
Demand Forecasting: Work with sales, marketing, and operations teams to forecast future demand for products or services, adjusting plans based on market trends, seasonal variations, and historical data.
Capacity Planning: Assess the company's capacity (resources, workforce, facilities, etc.) to meet future demands and ensure that resources are allocated efficiently.
Scenario Planning: Develop different scenarios to prepare for various market or production conditions, helping the company remain agile in the face of uncertainties.
Production and Operations Planning
Scheduling: Create production schedules or operational plans, coordinating with various departments to ensure resources are available and production runs smoothly.
Resource Allocation: Ensure that all necessary materials, equipment, and personnel are available for operations and production activities, optimizing resource utilization.
Lead Time Management: Monitor lead times for production, ensuring that timelines are met and products or services are delivered on schedule.
Inventory Control: Collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure that stock levels are sufficient to meet production requirements without overstocking, which can lead to unnecessary costs.

Desired candidate profile

Degree qualified, you will demonstrate a minimum 7 years of experience in cargo operations, finance, revenue accounting, or business management.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as procurement, finance, operations, and sales to align planning activities with overall business goals.
Communication: Regularly communicate with teams to keep everyone informed about plans, deadlines, changes, and potential risks that could impact the business.
Problem-Solving: Work with teams to identify any issues in the planning process and find solutions, whether they’re related to delays, resource shortages, or operational bottlenecks.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Monitoring Progress: Track the progress of plans, ensuring that projects or production activities are on schedule and within budget.
KPI Tracking: Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of planning and ensure goals are met.
Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on planning performance, including any variances from the plan and recommendations for corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement: Evaluate the success of completed projects or production cycles and identify areas for improvement in future planning.
