Job Description
This application is for a 6month student role from July December 2025. Resume review begins in January 2025.
Our Device Development team is a closeknit group of <8 engineers that design and develop combination products to meet the user needs and pharmaceutical pipeline of Biogen. We are looking for an innovative passionate learner who is ready for both handson and documentation engineering work located in Cambridge MA. This coop position will work on projects that align with Biogens culture of pioneering and driving results.
Position Description
- Onsite managing a Device Lab for 3 days a week minimum in Cambridge MA.
- Developing Test Methods using Instron Mechanical Testing Systems
- Assisting with Project Logistics (S&H)
- Assisting with Rapid Prototyping (SLA/FDM)
- Adhoc Testing and Device Builds for Ongoing Development/LCM
- Remote work will focus on performing Design History File (DHF) remediations writing Procedures and Test Method Development.
Projects Include:
- Project 1 Assisting with Developing PRCDs for Internal DVT
- Project 2 DHF Remediation for Commercial Projects
- Project 3 Adhoc Testing for Ongoing Development/LCM
Qualifications :
- Technical Writing Skills (specifically for Test Methods and/or Medical Device DHFs)
- Instron Testing Experience (performing/authoring tests)
- 3D Printing Experience (SLA/FDM)
- Innovative Thinking
- Communication Skills
- Time Management Skills
- Passion for Learning
- Medical Device or Combination Product Experience is a plus
To participate in the Biogen Internship Program students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
- Be currently enrolled in an accredited community college college or university with a graduation date no earlier than December 2025.
Education
- Degree level Must be actively pursuing bachelors degree or greater
- Majors All Engineering Disciplines will be considered but role is better suited for Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering backgrounds.
