Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical and detailoriented Controller to join our team in Chicago IL. In this pivotal role you will manage and optimize cost accounting processes to ensure the companys financial health and operational efficiency. This is a new position and we are looking for a selfstarter who can bring proven experience and best practices to help shape and enhance our cost accounting processes from the ground up. You will play a critical role in identifying opportunities for savings improving processes and supporting key financial strategies. As a key member of the management team youll have the opportunity to make a significant impact contribute to shaping the companys financial strategies and help optimize operations in a familyoriented environment.
Responsibilities
Partner with crossfunctional teams to develop and implement strategic financial initiatives including budget planning and forecasting.
Prepare monthly financial metrics including labor variances overhead analysis and productivity tracking and present insights.
Lead cost accounting efforts including analyzing material labor and overhead costs to enhance operational efficiency.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff fostering professional growth and maintaining a collaborative team environment.
Oversee and improve inventory costing processes ensuring accuracy and identifying opportunities for savings.
Lead plantlevel audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Intergral and assist with ERP implementation.
Requirements
Familiarity with ERP implementation and optimization.
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
Applicants with Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to report to facility located in Chicago IL (onsite) MondayFriday.
Proficiency in accounting software and Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
Prior experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) and standard costing methodologies.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Management experience with a proven ability to mentor and lead accounting teams.
