Job Description
- Position: Phlebotomist
- Location: Grand Forks ND 58201
- Pay Rate: $35/hour
- Gross Weekly: $1260/week
- Shift : Nights(Three 10hour night shifts plus ability to pick up additional 10hour evening shift.)
- Work Week: 3040 hours per week
- Duration: 13 weeks (high Possibility of contract extension)
- Start Date: ASAP
- The hours are 7 scheduled shifts on and 7 scheduled shifts off. WednesdayWednesday hours are 5a5:30p with the option to pick up 47am shifts for overtime
Job Description Summary
Job Description
- Performs patient identification and specimen labeling according to standard operating procedures.
- Understands the phlebotomy processes and techniques in order to obtain quality blood specimens to ensure that correct decisions are made regarding specimen collection.
- Performs interprets and reports pointofcare testing (e.g. glucose) and quality control.
- Processes laboratory and patient reports according to standard operating procedure e.g. printing recording distributing faxing filing and retrieving.
- Recognizes problems takes appropriate action documents problems and corrective action and follows protocol to notify the Supervisor of problems in a timely manner so as not to jeopardize patient care.
- Actively communicates throughout the shift and manages priority requests in a courteous and timely manner to ensure effective department workflow. Follows up with STAT ASAP and Preop draws to ensure turnaround times are met.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Additional specialty certification/training as preferred by the work area:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)within 90 Days of Start Date
- State License UPON Acceptance.
