Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
1. Bookkeeping and Financial Transaction Management:
o Supervise and manage the daily recording of financial transactions ensuring
all entries are accurate and uptodate.
o Maintain general ledger accounts accounts payable (AP) accounts
receivable (AR) and bank reconciliations using Tally.
o Oversee the posting of journal entries handling invoices payments receipts
and expense reports.
o Ensure all financial transactions are properly classified according to the
applicable accounting standards (IndAS) and internal policies.
2. Financial Reporting:
o Prepare accurate and timely financial reports including trial balance balance
sheet profit and loss statement and cash flow reports.
o Provide monthly quarterly and annual financial reports to senior
management highlighting variances and offering recommendations for
financial improvements.
o Use Excel for financial modeling detailed analysis and generating reports to
support strategic decisionmaking.
3. Taxation and Statutory Compliance:
o Ensure timely filing of GST returns TDS Income Tax and other statutory
payments maintaining compliance with Indian tax regulations.
o Support the finance team with tax audits and statutory audits ensuring that
all necessary documentation is provided and compliant with legal
requirements.
o Maintain accurate records for tax purposes and coordinate with tax
consultants as needed.
4. Internal Controls and Compliance:
o Implement and monitor internal accounting controls to ensure the accuracy
and completeness of financial records.
o Conduct periodic checks to verify that bookkeeping practices comply with
Indian Accounting Standards (IndAS) and other local regulations.
o Identify any discrepancies variances or errors in financial data and take
corrective action as necessary.
5. Banking and Cash Flow Management:
o Oversee the bank reconciliation process to ensure that all transactions are
accurately recorded and reconcile with bank statements.
o Manage cash flow forecasts ensuring there is adequate liquidity for
operational needs and helping manage working capital effectively.
o Coordinate with the treasury function for cash management fund transfers
and other related financial operations.
6. Team Leadership and Development:
o Lead and mentor a team of junior bookkeepers and accountants setting clear
goals and ensuring the team adheres to high standards of accuracy and
timeliness.
o Train and develop staff on Tally Excel and other accounting tools to enhance
team productivity and efficiency.
o Perform regular performance evaluations providing constructive feedback
and fostering a collaborative team environment.
7. Process Improvement and System Management:
o Continuously review and optimize bookkeeping processes to increase
accuracy efficiency and timeliness.
o Drive the implementation and maintenance of accounting software like Tally
and automation tools to streamline financial workflows.
o Recommend and implement improvements in accounting processes and
reporting mechanisms using Excel and other tools.
8. Stakeholder Collaboration:
o Collaborate with crossfunctional teams such as procurement sales and HR
to ensure proper recording of transactions related to purchases payroll and
other expenses.
o Act as a point of contact for financial queries from internal stakeholders and
provide timely assistance.
o Liaise with external auditors tax consultants and other thirdparty vendors
to ensure smooth financial operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance Commerce or a related field.
o CA Inter CMA or MBA in Finance is an added advantage.
• Experience:
o 57 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting with at least 23 years
in a supervisory/managerial role.
o Proven experience in handling financial transactions managing ledgers and
preparing financial reports.
o Indepth knowledge of Indian tax regulations (GST TDS Income Tax Act) and
statutory compliance.
o Experience in managing Tally ERP for financial data entry reporting and
reconciliation.
• Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Tally ERP for financial management bookkeeping and
reporting.
o Advanced skills in MS Excel (e.g. pivot tables vlookups macros) for data
analysis financial modeling and reporting.
o Knowledge of accounting software (e.g. SAP QuickBooks Zoho Books) is a
plus.
o Familiarity with cloudbased accounting tools is advantageous.
• Soft Skills:
o Strong attention to detail and a focus on maintaining high accuracy in
financial records.
o Strong organizational and timemanagement skills with the ability to handle
multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate
with internal teams and external stakeholders.
o Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide and motivate
the bookkeeping team.
