Job Description

Responsibilities
- Analyze complex project drawings and specifications extracting key information for accurate estimations
- Conduct detailed takeoffs to determine precise material quantities and labor requirements
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for HVAC and sheet metal work considering all aspects of project execution
- Liaise with vendors and subcontractors to obtain current pricing information and negotiate favorable terms
- Craft compelling project proposals that highlight costeffectiveness and technical superiority
- Utilize cuttingedge estimating software (e.g. QuoteSoft) or apply proven manual estimation techniques to ensure precision
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously adapting to varying workloads and tight deadlines
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to align estimates with project goals and company standards
- Identify and recommend costsaving opportunities to enhance project competitiveness
- Stay abreast of market trends pricing fluctuations and emerging technologies in the HVAC and sheet metal industry
Requirements
- Proven experience in HVAC and sheet metal work estimation within the construction industry
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting complex construction drawings and specifications
- Advanced analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail
- Familiarity with industrystandard estimating software (e.g. QuoteSoft) or demonstrated expertise in manual estimation methods
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to effectively convey technical information
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a dynamic environment
- Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome estimation challenges
- Knowledge of current market prices labor rates and industry standards in HVAC and sheet metal work
- Flexibility to adapt to varying workloads from parttime to fulltime commitments as project demands fluctuate
- Bachelor s degree in Construction Management Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- HVAC or sheet metal certifications are a plus
