Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

1. Facility Design and Planning

  • Design and Layout: Assist in the design and layout of new facilities or modifications to existing ones, ensuring that the systems meet operational needs, efficiency, and safety standards.
  • Space Utilization: Plan and optimize the use of space within facilities, balancing productivity, safety, and comfort. This may involve setting up new workspaces, meeting rooms, or production areas.
  • Building Systems Design: Work with architects, engineers, and contractors to design and install building systems such as HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical wiring, lighting, and plumbing.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Design and implement energy-efficient systems, including renewable energy sources, lighting upgrades, and water-saving measures, in line with sustainability goals.

2. Facility Operations Management

  • Maintenance Oversight: Manage and coordinate regular preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing, and fire safety systems to ensure smooth and safe operations.
  • Equipment Performance: Monitor the performance of critical facility systems (e.g., boilers, air conditioning, generators) and ensure they operate optimally, troubleshooting issues when necessary.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues in the facility's infrastructure, such as electrical failures, HVAC problems, or plumbing issues. Ensure quick and effective solutions to avoid downtime.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all systems and equipment are in compliance with local safety standards and regulations, including fire codes, OSHA requirements, and environmental regulations.

3. Project Management

  • Facility Upgrades and Renovations: Oversee and manage renovation or upgrade projects to improve existing infrastructure, whether it’s upgrading electrical systems, remodeling office spaces, or installing new security systems.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for facility maintenance and improvement projects, ensuring that all expenditures are in line with company guidelines and financial targets.
  • Contractor Coordination: Supervise contractors and vendors involved in facility-related projects. Ensure that external contractors perform work according to specifications, timelines, and safety standards.

Desired candidate profile

Minimum 07 Years’ Experience in Operation and Maintenance of FM, Buildings, MEP system with at least 02 years in similar type of facilities.
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management
Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce facility safety procedures and protocols to ensure that the workplace is safe for employees, visitors, and contractors.
Emergency Systems: Ensure that emergency systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, emergency lighting) are operational and regularly tested. Develop emergency evacuation plans and procedures.
Environmental Compliance: Ensure the facility meets environmental compliance standards, including waste management, air quality control, and energy efficiency.
Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards within the facility, developing strategies to mitigate risks.
. Facility Maintenance
Preventive Maintenance: Establish preventive maintenance programs for critical facility systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, and safety equipment to reduce unplanned downtime and increase the lifespan of assets.
Corrective Maintenance: Oversee and manage the response to emergency repairs, ensuring that repairs are made quickly to minimize disruptions to business operations.
Inventory and Spare Parts: Maintain an inventory of spare parts and equipment for repair needs, ensuring that the facility has the necessary tools and parts readily available for any maintenance tasks.
. Energy Management
Energy Efficiency: Monitor energy usage and identify opportunities to reduce consumption through energy-efficient upgrades, system improvements, and process optimization.
Sustainability Practices: Implement sustainable building practices, such as green building certifications (e.g., LEED), renewable energy solutions (solar panels, wind energy), and energy-efficient HVAC systems to reduce the facility's environmental footprint.
Utility Management: Manage and negotiate utility contracts for water, electricity, gas, and waste disposal to ensure the facility gets the best value while complying with all relevant regulations.
