We are seeking an Accountant to join our clients innovative team. A leading network of community development financial institutions (CDFIs) empowers underserved communities by expanding access to capital and financial services. They drive economic justice through training advocacy and support for initiatives that promote sustainable growth and social impact. In this role you will be responsible for managing financial records ensuring compliance with regulations and supporting strategic decisionmaking through accurate reporting and analysis. You will play a key role in maintaining the organizations financial integrity by overseeing daytoday accounting operations and driving process improvements.
Prepare examine and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Manage accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger activities.
Perform monthly quarterly and annual reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets providing variance analysis and financial forecasts.
Analyze financial data to identify trends risks and opportunities for costsaving initiatives.
Ensure all financial transactions comply with federal state and local regulations.
Prepare and submit tax filings audits and other required reports accurately and on time.
Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing queries.
Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and systems for increased efficiency and accuracy.
Implement best practices in accounting procedures and internal controls.
Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations recommending adjustments to policies as needed.
Work closely with internal teams to support financial decisionmaking and project cost analysis.
Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors vendors and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless financial operations.
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
Proven experience as an Accountant with expertise in financial reporting and compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
Experience with financial analysis budgeting and forecasting.
Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills for working with crossfunctional teams and presenting financial data to nonfinancial stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
