Job Description
Senior Python Engineer
Location: Newark NJ (Hybrid 2 days per week onsite)
- Fulltime / Regular W2 role No C2C
- No Visa transfers at this time
Our client is looking for a talented and driven Senior Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing applications for financial systems particularly in frontoffice environments along with expertise in Python and SQL. This is a hybrid role based in Newark NJ.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop maintain and optimize software applications supporting frontoffice operations and related financial processes.
- Utilize Python and SQL to create scalable efficient solutions tailored to the needs of financial markets.
- Apply knowledge of fixed income to enhance investment and trading platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements address challenges and deliver impactful solutions.
- Leverage development tools such as Git Jira Docker and Jenkins to streamline the software development lifecycle.
- Provide technical expertise and proactive support to frontoffice users including portfolio managers and quantitative analysts.
- Adapt to a fastpaced evolving environment and take ownership of complex technical challenges.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience developing applications particularly for frontoffice operations.
- Advanced proficiency in Python programming and SQL database management.
- Strong understanding of fixed income markets and related financial instruments.
- Proven ability to thrive in dynamic environments with a proactive and resultsdriven mindset.
- Experience with software development tools like Git Jira Docker and Jenkins.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
Preferred Skills
- Handson experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Proficiency in additional programming languages such as Java or C.
- Familiarity with financial datasets from sources like Bloomberg S&P Moodys or ICE.
- Knowledge of investment modeling customization and backtesting strategies.
- Experience providing direct support to frontoffice professionals.
