Job Description
We currently have a vacancy for an System Engineer (Linux) fluent in English to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the companys premises or onsite at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment the successful candidate will be integrated with the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major clients IT team on site.
Your tasks:
- Practical validation and implementation of the solutions recommended or designed by the Software or Infrastructure Architects;
- Design development tests documentation release control maintenance and technical support of infrastructure software components and services matching the specifications;
- Proof of concept prototyping of infrastructure solutions;
- Technical responsibility for infrastructure development projects;
- Provision of technical studies technical expertise technical evaluations in relation with Information Systems infrastructure;
- Production of technical documentation;
- Assistance with configuration of the system for production deployment and in training administrators and users.
Requirements
- University degree in IT combined with relevant IT professional experience of 7 years;
- Good knowledge of web applications apps backend applications infrastructure script or other development area as required to perform the specified tasks;
- Experience in componentbased and serviceoriented applications development or configuration;
- Understanding modelling languages or tools (e.g. UML);
- Knowledge and experience in administration of the Linux system operating system in particular Red Hat Linux 8 (installation firewall and maintenance scripts);
- Knowledge and experience with Docker Kubernetes and/or Podman;
- Knowledge and experience in administration of the Apache HTTPD server including SSL;
- Knowledge and experience in configuring file transfer systems SFTP server (e.g. ProFTPD) and/or Rsync;
- Knowledge and experience in administration of the Tomcat Java Application Server;
- Knowledge of relational database management of MySQL/MariaDB (installation and general maintenance);
- Knowledge and experience in AWS public cloud hosting;
- Knowledge of Oracle DB is an asset;
- Knowledge in Python scripting is an asset;
- Ability to understand speak and write French will be an advantage;
- Excellent command of the English language.
