Courses of instruction may include:

NR513: Professional Role Enhancement

This course focuses on professional role development in advanced nursing practice. Building on the knowledge skills and attitudes acquired by the registered nurse the student will learn the critical elements in advanced nursing education and contemporary professional role specification. The relationship of theories professional core competencies and standards to leadership education scholarship and professionalism will be explored.

NR515: Informatics in Health Care

This course explores healthandnursing informatics concepts principles and practices used to improve healthcare outcomes. This course explores collection and management and transformation of data; information knowledge and wisdom; as well as ethical legal regulatory and security concerns related to healthcare information systems. The potential benefits and detriments of clinical information systems (CIS) and information technology for nursing practice are examined.

Nr518: Population Health and Epidemiology in Nursing Practice

This course introduces the concepts of populationfocused professional nursing. Utilizing levels of prevention as a framework theories principles and concepts of community population and global health are explored. Through the lens of health promotion and disease prevention predictive factors that influence health of individuals aggregates and populations are explored. Epidemiological principles processes and methods are emphasized to examine the impact of environmental issues and risk factors to local and global population health.


Qualifications :

  • MSN and DNP or PhD in nursing degree are required
  • A minimum of 1 year online teaching experience is preferred at the graduate postlicensure level
  • Professional Development experience preferred
  • Compact (multistate) nursing license (highly preferred)
  • Candidates will be required to obtain an Illinois RN license to teach all courses (priority given to candidates who are currently licensed in Illinois)
  • Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction
  • Faculty must have excellent communication motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and nontraditional environment


Additional Information :

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position Online:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1950/Earned Credit Hour depending on the candidates education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on jobrelated factors permitted by law such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
