David Kennedy Recruitment is working with a leadingtech company who is looking to recruit aSenior IT Network Engineerto join their team in Bogota Colombia.
Position:Senior IT Network Engineer
Location: Bogota Colombia
Employment type: Fulltime

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and manage the organizations IT infrastructure including firewalls routers switches servers and storage systems.
- Configure maintain and troubleshoot network devices such as VLANs routing protocols (e.g. BGP OSPF) NAT and VPN.
- Oversee essential services like DHCP DNS and load balancing to ensure reliability and performance.
- Maintain network stability ensuring optimal routing switching and wireless network performance.
- Implement monitor and optimize network performance addressing bottlenecks and ensuring consistent reliability.
- Plan for network capacity optimizing for scalability and future expansion.
- Manage backup systems disaster recovery plans and failover processes.
- Administer storage solutions to ensure data availability and integrity.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on servers including system updates package management and kernel optimizations.
- Develop and enforce security protocols to protect the organizations IT infrastructure.
- Manage firewalls intrusion detection and prevention systems and VPN access controls.
- Conduct regular security risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards through the enforcement of security policies.
- Lead a team of IT professionals including network engineers system administrators and support staff.
- Ensure continuous availability of IT systems by implementing a comprehensive oncall rotation and escalation procedures.
- Manage incident response to swiftly address critical infrastructure issues.
- Promote a team culture focused on proactive monitoring preventive maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Plan and oversee IT infrastructure projects such as system upgrades migrations and new deployments.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure that IT infrastructure supports organizational goals.
- Effectively manage project budgets timelines and resource allocation for infrastructure initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in English (C1) with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Over 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management or a comparable role.
- Certification in Azure AdministrationITIL Foundation and/orCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) would be considered and advantage.
- Extensive handson experience with firewalls routers switches and server management.
- Deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP OSPF) NAT VLANs and network security practices.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
- Proficiency in Linux systems particularly with the Ubuntu distribution.
- Demonstrated experience managing a 24/7 IT support environment.
- Strong leadership communication and project management capabilities.
