Description:
Provide editorial support for the production of printed or online materials. Edit text to ensure it is well written and logically structured is accurate and ready for publication. Working closely with Harvard communicators administrators or academic personnel suggest changes to enhance the readability conciseness and style of a written piece. Responsible for fixing any grammatical punctuation and spelling errors and ensuring that content is written in accordance with a Harvardprovided or agreedupon style guide such as the AP Chicago or MLA style guide. May coordinate the production schedule and monitor production process in consultation with Harvard client.

- Additional Job Details : Copy and Production Editor Harvard Magazine Reports to editor. Copyediting the entire print magazine (includes both substantive content editing and factchecking as needed and editing for correct grammar diction and stylistic consistency); all online editorial contents; and special promotional materials such as ads publicizing the magazine s website fundraising and other activities. Print production. Forwarding final pages to the outside proofreader for checking and collating corrections from editors reviews and revisions and proofreader revisions with the creative director to prepare final files for printing. Reviewing and proofing the online editorial contents of the entire magazine for style and content before it is posted. Supervising and assisting the contributing editors who produce the copy and initial layouts for the class notes and obituaries departments. Verifying the degree status of individuals whose news is submitted for class notes proofing and updating both contributing editors copy as needed and acquiring assigning and on occasion writing parts of the subsidiary sections thereof (query boxes nuggets) plus coordinating the layouts with edited texts in place of both sections. Serving in addition as the magazine s primary contact with Harvard and Radcliffe class secretaries.
