Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall sales targets and business growth in Saudi Arabia for infrastructure market in certain accounts in the region.

Maintaining and increasing sales for your area.
Establishing, maintaining, and expanding our customer base, EPCs, end users, developers.
Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market.
Developing sales strategies.
Compiling and analyzing sales figures.
Dealing with all customer accounts in your area.
Negotiate sales deals with success and to increase market share.
Sales experience and sales process awareness complying to Saudi market practice.
1. Pre-Sales Support:
Product Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the technical specifications and capabilities of the products or services being sold. This knowledge allows sales engineers to effectively explain product features and benefits to potential clients.
Consultative Selling: Engage with potential customers to understand their needs and challenges. Use technical knowledge to provide tailored solutions that align with the client’s requirements and business objectives.
Presentations and Demos: Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and technical discussions to showcase how the product can meet the client’s needs. This often involves hands-on demos or simulations to demonstrate the product’s capabilities.
Proposal Development: Prepare and present technical proposals, which include product recommendations, technical specifications, pricing, and implementation timelines.
2. Sales Support and Coordination:
Collaboration with Sales Team: Work closely with the sales team to develop strategies and tactics for selling complex solutions. Provide technical support during client meetings and assist in responding to customer inquiries.
Lead Qualification: Help in qualifying leads and identifying prospects that are likely to benefit from the product or service being offered. This involves analyzing potential customers' needs and determining if the solution is a good fit.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Use CRM systems to track leads, manage customer relationships, and follow up on sales opportunities. Keep detailed records of interactions, customer requirements, and sales progress.
3. Post-Sales Support:
Implementation Assistance: Collaborate with technical teams or engineers to ensure the smooth implementation of the product or service post-sale. Provide guidance to customers during the installation or setup process.
Customer Training: Offer training and support to customers to help them understand how to use and maximize the value of the product or service.
Ongoing Customer Support: Serve as a point of contact for customers after the sale, addressing any technical questions or issues that arise and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Problem-Solving: Assist customers with troubleshooting technical issues, often working with product development or engineering teams to provide solutions.


Desired candidate profile

University bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
1-2 plus years of relevant sales and technical experience; in electrical projects / Transmission & Distribution substations.
Fluent business spoken and written in English and Arabic.
Medium Voltage Solution & Systems Background
Excellent communication skills.
Sales Strategy Development:
Sales Goals and Forecasting: Set sales goals and work towards achieving them by meeting targets and KPIs. Track progress and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
Pricing Strategy: Work with the sales and pricing teams to develop competitive pricing strategies based on market conditions and customer needs.
Product Customization: Help customize products or solutions to meet specific customer needs by collaborating with product engineers or development teams.
Key Skills and Attributes for a Sales Engineer:
Technical Expertise: A deep understanding of the technical aspects of the product or service being sold, including its applications, limitations, and benefits.
Sales Acumen: Strong skills in selling, relationship-building, and persuading customers, including understanding customer needs and presenting solutions effectively.
Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to identify customer challenges and provide tailored solutions, often requiring creativity and a thorough understanding of the product.
Communication Skills: The ability to clearly explain complex technical information in a way that is easy for non-technical customers to understand, both verbally and in writing.
Presentation Skills: Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
Customer-Oriented Mindset: A strong focus on customer satisfaction, understanding their needs, and providing solutions that add value.
Project Management: Ability to manage the entire sales process, from initial engagement through to implementation and post-sale support, ensuring deadlines and customer expectations are met.
Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and solutions that meet both the customer’s needs and the company's profitability goals.
Collaboration: Work effectively with internal teams, including sales, technical, and customer support teams, to deliver a seamless customer experience.
