Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures effective reactive predictive and preventative maintenance on all plant infrastructure and equipment to minimize failure and optimize production.
- Coordinates firstline maintenance to prevent equipment downtime.
- Raises job cards for maintenance work and ensures necessary work permits are included (hot work vessel entry and elevated work permits escalated for approval).
- Drives and participates in fault analysis (e.g. Root Cause Analysis 5 WHY 8D). Approves job cards postmaintenance.
- Ensures equipment and work areas are safe wellmaintained and adhere to housekeeping principles. Identifies and reports risks or areas of concern within the department.
- Ensures compliance with regulations to avoid wasteful or irregular expenditure.
- Adheres to and enforces Health Safety and Environmental legislation to minimize risks or incidents. Maintains effective relationships with internal and external customers and represents the organization in stakeholder meetings.
- Monitors employee performance through appraisals identifies development opportunities and ensures ongoing training.
- Addresses employee relations matters promptly and fairly.
- Contributes to budget preparation and monitors expenditure to ensure adherence to financial guidelines exploring costsaving opportunities.
- Promotes efficient use of resources and reports deviations to management. Solves problems creatively with integrity and aligns actions with core organizational values.
Requirements
Certificate in Technical or Maintenance related fields (NQF 5)
Diploma in Technical or Maintenance related fields (NQF 6) Advantegous
Trade Test (NQF 5)
Certificate in First Line Management (FLMP) (NQF 5)
Experience at Supervisory Level
Experience in working shifts
Indepth knowledge of maintenance practices procedures and processes
Understanding of compliance with legislation safety and other manufacturing regulations
