They will be responsible for managing procurement, inventory, and distribution of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, feed, and equipment at our hospital. The job entails that the candidate ensures availability of essential items, maintains inventory levels, control costs, and supports efficient hospital operations.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Inventory Management: Track and manage inventory levels, conduct audits, and maintain control systems.
Procurement: Source suppliers, negotiate terms, and place orders based on hospital needs.
Logistics Coordination: Oversee receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze inventory data, forecast demand, and prepare reports on inventory and costs.
Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure all supplies meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Cost Management: Monitor budget, identify cost-saving opportunities.
Collaboration and Communication: Work with veterinary staff and suppliers to meet supply needs.
. Inventory Management:
Stock Monitoring: Regularly monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is available to meet demand. This includes tracking inventory turnover, managing reorder points, and ensuring that stock is replenished in a timely manner.
Inventory Control: Implement processes to control stock, prevent overstocking or stockouts, and ensure the accuracy of inventory records. This includes using inventory management systems and conducting physical inventory audits.
Stock Rotation: Ensure that inventory is rotated properly (e.g., first-in, first-out or FIFO) to avoid spoilage, obsolescence, or expiration of products, especially in industries with perishable goods or time-sensitive items.
Supply Chain Coordination:
Supplier Relationships: Work closely with suppliers to ensure that the correct products are sourced, ordered, and delivered on time. Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with suppliers to facilitate smooth procurement processes.
Procurement and Purchasing: Manage purchasing activities, including issuing purchase orders, tracking order status, negotiating pricing and terms, and ensuring that all items are delivered according to the agreed schedule.
Logistics and Transportation: Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure the efficient movement of goods from suppliers to warehouses and ultimately to customers or retail locations. This includes managing shipping routes, lead times, and costs.
Demand Forecasting: Use historical data, market trends, and sales forecasts to predict future demand for products. This helps in maintaining optimal stock levels and minimizing the risks of understocking or overstocking.
● Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
● Certification in supply chain management preferred.
Required Years of Experience
At least 2 years’ experience in related field.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Competencies: Proficiency in English and Arabic (spoken and written)
Supply Chain Optimization:
Process Improvement: Continuously analyze and identify areas for improvement in the supply chain process. Work on reducing inefficiencies, such as excessive lead times, shipping delays, or overstocking, to improve overall supply chain performance.
Cost Optimization: Monitor costs related to procurement, transportation, and inventory management. Implement strategies to reduce costs while maintaining supply chain effectiveness. This may involve negotiating better rates with suppliers, optimizing shipment methods, or reducing waste in the supply chain.
Technology Integration: Implement and maintain inventory management systems or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools to automate processes, track stock in real-time, and improve communication between departments (e.g., procurement, warehousing, sales).
Risk Management:
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks within the supply chain, such as supplier disruptions, transport delays, or natural disasters. Work on developing strategies to mitigate these risks and minimize their impact on inventory and production.
Contingency Planning: Develop contingency plans to handle unexpected disruptions in the supply chain. This may involve identifying alternative suppliers, transportation routes, or storage facilities to ensure continuity of operations.
