Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel who will provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of commercial transactions predominantly for our Supply Chain business. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex legal issues.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Legal Support:

  • Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and other personnel within the organisation.
  • Draft and review a variety of commercial agreements.
  • Provide legal advice on contract interpretation risk management and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts align with business objectives and mitigate potential risks.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and support compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other thirdparty advisors

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent; admission to practice law in Australia.
  • Current Australian Practising Certificate.
  • Minimum of 8 years of postqualification experience in commercial/corporate law preferably within the energy or industrial sector.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements with a particular focus on infrastructure/supply chain related contracts.
  • Expertise in competition/consumer law.
  • Experience in construction law.
  • Experience in mergers & acquisitions joint ventures and major projects.
  • Experience with advising on complex regulatory matters and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of integrity professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Strategic Thinking.
  • Adaptability and Resilience.
  • Ability to work independently by selfmanaging workloads and projects and also be team focused
