Salary Range: $53303 $69293 annually (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)

Status: Temporary FullTime (to December 2026)

Position Summary: Several postdoctoral positions are available for synthetic organic or medicinal chemists within a small molecule therapeutics group at the Krembil Research Institute UHN. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team tasked with translating new biological discoveries into druggable targets. The position will be focused on multistep syntheses of novel small molecules that will be tested in various biological assays conducted within laboratories of PIs at Krembil Princess Margaret and UHN. The successful candidate will join a vibrant multidisciplinary academic research group consisting of over 30 biochemists molecular biologists behavioural neuroscientists computational chemists and medicinal chemists.
- Design and synthesize new chemical entity small molecules as putative drug platforms
- Conduct multistep syntheses of small molecules using stateoftheart synthetic organic chemistry methods
- Conduct structure and ligandbased design and basic molecular modelling
- Work collaboratively with expert researchers across a multitude of disease biology areas and other scientific disciplines
- Conduct due diligence on potential therapeutic target
Qualifications :
- Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry medicinal chemistry or related field
- Expertise and experience in standard techniques of synthetic organic chemistry
- Effective team player with strong collaborative troubleshooting skills
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams is an asset
- Solid documentation skills and organizational ability
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Basic knowledge of key concepts in biochemistry and pharmacology an asset
