Installing electrical systemswithin the garage trackside.
Ensuring the safe operationof all electrical equipment.
Supporting the Academy teamat Williams HQ and trackside.
Maintaining detailed recordsof electrical tests including installation checks and signoff certificates.
Installing lowpressure air linesand general upkeep of pit equipment and garage presentation.
This role also offers the thrilling chance to allocate up to10% of your time to the F1 racing calendar
As the Garage Electrician your main responsibilities will be:
Contribute towards electrical pit equipment projects wiring testing and maintenance.
To participate in the preparation of the Prebuild and build and disassembly of the event garage and associated equipment including the wiring of the 3phase power and lowpressure air supply within the garage.
Carry out maintenance and servicing of Electrical equipment as required both at the Williams factory and at events.
Accountable for the loading/unloading of trucks and both air and sea freight as required for different events.
Working with other team members to ensure the car car equipment and garage are maintained and presented to the highest possible standards.
Report any faults or issues with any equipment/components which may lead to a failure.
To attend any events as organised by the company.
Proactively assist the Academy Team Coordinator & Chief Mechanic to ensure the workload is completed on time and to the correct standard.
To form a good working relationship with the Academy Team & Race Team Garage Electrician(s)
Ensure that you are aware of and comply with and always promote the Company Health and safety requirements and policies.
Transport build and operate garage facilities at Academy Test & Race events.
Maintain and present the garage at Academy events.
Manage assigned freight and equipment.
Assist in modification servicing and functionality checks of equipment.
Complete tasks within anticipated time frames.
Build up and pack down the garage environment.
Identify and implement improvements for the department.
HGV Licence and mechanical experience is advantageous but not essential
We are looking for a Garage Electrician with the following skills and experience:
Electrical Knowledge and Qualification needed ideally qualified up to the 18th edition (BS7671:2018) and completed a full apprenticeship.
Good Electrical understanding and adheres to safe working practises.
Enthusiastic selfstarter with collaborative skills.
Selfsufficient and responsible for task completion.
Previous motorsport experience as a garage technician ideally electrical installation would be beneficial but completely necessary.
Team player comfortable working with internal and external entities.
Flexible approach to working hours during events and peak times.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Excel Word).
Impeccable attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects.
Experience in loading and securing valuable freight by land sea and air is beneficial.
*In compliance with national Secure Freight Consigner conditions five years continuous employment education and/or training must be evidenced and ay gaps exceeding 28 days accounted for. A criminal record check will also be carried out. This will be explained in more detail during interview.
