Job Description
Job Title: Business Intelligence Specialist
Location: Toronto ON
Mode: Contract
Must Haves:
- Demonstrates experience with designing and developing using the Microsoft suite of BI tools (SQL Server SSIS Azure Data Factory SSAS SSRS Power BI)
- Demonstrates design and development experience as a BI Programmer/ Developer
- Demonstrates experience developing and using reusable components to assist with BI processes and providing detailed documentation for the tools that are developed Demonstrates experience with developing debugging and enhancing the performance of complex SQL queries
- Demonstrates experience designing and developing solutions on Microsoft Azure or other cloud infrastructure and services
General Skills:
- Experience with analyzing data in source systems to identify data cleanliness issues (e.g. missing values duplicate meanings and invalid data)
- Experience with developing feedback processes to fix corrupt data in the source systems
- Experience with developing data extraction transformation and load programs (daily and initial load) functionality on a widerange of data repositories (relational and multi dimensional data stores)
- Experience with developing implementing and maintaining schedule/dependency logic for Extract Transform Load (ETL) scripts
- Experience with developing monitoring and error notification processes to ensure data is updated as designed
- Experience with developing automation extraction cleansing and load scripts
- Experience generating research models and reports (scheduled and adhoc)
- Proven troubleshooting and analytical experience
- Experience in process decomposition/mapping and business process reengineering and complex data models using UML.
- Experience in the use of development tools and business reengineering software
- Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. business logical and physical models) based on Enterprise Application Processes and Modeling methodology and guidelines
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in developing data analysis applications
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles concepts
policies and practices
- Ability to provide expert advice in developing and integrating process and information
models to enable identifying and eliminating redundant business processes.
- Experience with developing monitoring and error notification processes to ensure
data is updated as designed
- Hands on experience working with stakeholders to develop and document interface
specifications design between Business Intelligence solutions and external applications
- Extensive experience with conceptual logical and physical data modelling tools like
Power Designer and Visio.
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA)
and related regulations and standards
