Carpenter Job Description
- Reviewing architectural and engineering plans or blueprints to comprehend project specifications.
- Interpreting designs to precisely measure and cut materials.
- Utilizing tools like tape measures saws chisels and power tools to cut and shape materials according to specifications.
- Constructing and installing frameworks for buildings including floors walls and roofs.
- Creating temporary supports such as scaffolding to aid in construction.
- Installing windows doors cabinets countertops and other fixtures.
- Building staircases railings and furniture pieces as part of carpentry skills.
- Carrying out finishing tasks such as sanding painting staining and varnishing wood or materials.
- Repairing damaged or wornout wood structures and fixtures.
- Maintaining buildings by performing regular upkeep tasks.
- Specializing in custom cabinetry and furniture making.
- Following safety procedures and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Working alongside other construction professionals to ensure completion according to plan and timelines.
