Job Description
Job Title: Safety Assistant
Location: Singapore
Experience: 0 to 1 Years
Salary: Depends Upon Experience
Main Responsibilities
- Assist the Safety Officer/Manager in ensuring compliance with health safety and environmental regulations and policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide support in developing and implementing safety programs policies and procedures.
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure it is used properly.
- Conduct safety orientations and training sessions for employees and contractors.
- Maintain records of incidents inspections and corrective actions for audit purposes.
- Participate in incident investigations and assist in preparing detailed reports.
- Monitor emergency response procedures and ensure readiness in case of emergencies.
- Collaborate with teams to promote a culture of safety awareness and responsibility.
- Assist in the preparation of safety documents and reports including risk assessments and safety manuals.
Essential Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety Environmental Science or a related field.
- Certification in safety practices such as NEBOSH IOSH OSHA or equivalent is mandatory.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety standards procedures and regulations.
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and safety audits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deliver safety training effectively.
- Analytical and problemsolving skills to identify hazards and recommend solutions.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
