Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Intensive Care Unit (ICU) (Day & Night Shifts)
Location: Chicago Illinois
Job Type: FullTime or PartTime (6 openings available)
Shift: Long Night/Long Day

Job Summary:
As a vital member of our healthcare team the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) delivers exceptional care to patients with complex medical needs. The ICU RN is responsible for continuous monitoring emergency response care and managing life support systems ensuring the highest quality of care. This role involves 12hour shifts with schedules from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm or 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. Join our team to contribute to a mission of providing patient care second to none

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor and assess patient vital signs ensuring swift response to emergencies.
  • Administer medications and maintain life support systems including ventilators and IABPs.
  • Clean and redress surgical sites and wounds monitor patient recovery and file detailed medical records.
  • Perform diagnostic tests oversee followup visits and respond effectively to medical emergencies.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families through empathetic communication and goal setting.
  • Adhere to infection control practices regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and patient experiences.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to achieve department goals.
  • Undertake additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • ADN BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing program (preferred).
  • Valid and active RN license (required).
  • Current BLS CPR certification (AHA Red Cross or Military Training Network accepted).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience (ICU or PACU preferred).
  • Knowledge of critical care equipment and nursing techniques.
  • Ability to work variable hours and remain calm under pressure.
