Job Description

Human Resources Manager

Location: Griffin GA

Salary range: $80K $100K DOE

Report to: CEO / CFO

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary: The HR Managers primary responsibilities include recruitment orientation benefit administration workers compensation management employee relations and retention performance management payroll and updating monthly reports pertaining to human resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and interview at all levels including exempt nonexempt and temporary positions through online recruiting websites education relationships employee referral and word of mouth. Reduce hiring costs through direct hiring and increased retention.
  • Coordinate the successful onboarding of new employees to ensure that all payroll benefit and employee files are established correctly and in full legal compliance.
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies job duties working conditions wages and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws in all written policies and workplace actions.
  • Handle workers compensation claims and reduce claims.
  • Help reduce payroll cost (help streamline process or find alternate methods).
  • Work with the supervisors to ensure performance and compensation reviews are done on a timely basis.
  • Help identify personnel training and certification needs and provide training as needed with a focus on hourly personnel. Partner with Production Shift Supervisors to improve training results
  • Manage and administer the employee handbook and acting as an expert in the interpretation of the policies.
  • Monitor associate performance and support staff when disciplinary actions are required.
  • Keep management aware of unemployment trends new businesses coming into the area & those going out of business to assess external risks and opportunities.
  • Track vacation for all employees and attendance of all hourly employees.
  • Administer compensation benefits and performance management systems.
  • Perform difficult staffing duties including dealing with understaffing mediating disputes termination of employees and administering disciplinary procedures.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and recommended needed changes.
  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and employees by handling questions and helping resolve work related problems.
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnelrelated data such as hires transfers performance appraisals and absenteeism rates.
  • Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organizations personnel policies and practices.
  • Investigate and report on industrial accidents for insurance carriers.
  • Represent organization at personnelrelated hearings and investigations.
  • Prepare personnel forecast to project employment needs.
  • Prepare and follow budgets for personnel operations.
  • Develop administer and evaluate applicant tests.
  • Oversee the evaluation classification and rating of occupations and job positions.
  • Contract with vendors to provide employee services such as food service transportation or relocation service.
  • Coordinates arrangements for special events and caterings.
  • Orders office supplies and cleaning supplies.
  • Responsible for contracting office cleaning services
  • Responsible for contracting special training needs and employee industrial hygiene testings.
  • Manages updates and inputs data into the Human Resources Information System (Bamboo HR)
  • Responsible for daily timecard audits to ensure accuracy and to monitor overtime.
  • Responsible for calculating and processing biweekly and monthly reports.
  • Responsible for reporting of payroll information such as hours worked and pay for payroll journal entries attendance tracker hours worked without injuries and attendance percentages.
  • Responsible for reporting Human Resources activities for the weekly Managers Meeting monthly Board of Directors meeting and the quarterly Management System Review Team meeting.

Requirements:

Education & Experience: Bachelors degree preferred or an Associates degree with 810 years of past HR experience in a HR Manager role in a manufacturing environment.

PHR/SPHR certification preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent communications skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Well organized and pays attention to details.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and payroll HRIS solutions
  • The ability to handle difficult situations and to diplomatically coach management and employees on effective practices. Remain calm and in control in challenging employee interactions.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask and adapt as needed to provide support to all levels of the organization.
  • Familiar with state and federal laws pertaining to recruitment and employment.
  • Upbeat and outgoing personality with the ability to remain objective.
  • Able to maintain confidential information.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of governmental regulations related to Human Resource Management and legal compliance to Employment and Labor Law regulations.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal compliance requirements such as EEOC NLRB FMLA ADA FLSA etc.

Physical Requirements:

  • General office environment ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to move about in an office.
