The Spa Technician is responsible to assist in the smooth and efficient running of the Engineering Department in support of all other operating departments.
Minimum 2 years work experience as Spa Technician/Tradesman in a hotel or 4 years in a similar large building/complex with central plant.
Providing Spa Treatments
Massages: Perform a variety of massages (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy, reflexology) based on guest preferences or therapeutic needs.
Facials: Perform facial treatments to cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate the skin. This may include using various products and techniques for different skin types and conditions.
Body Treatments: Provide body treatments, such as body wraps, scrubs, or detoxifying treatments, to help rejuvenate the skin and promote relaxation.
Waxing and Hair Removal: Some spa technicians may also provide hair removal services, including waxing, threading, or other methods of hair removal.
Skin Care Advice: Offer advice on skin care routines, product recommendations, and techniques for maintaining skin health.
Client Consultation and Service Customization
Consulting Clients: Conduct consultations with clients to understand their needs, skin types, and any health issues or sensitivities. This helps tailor treatments to the client’s specific needs and ensures their comfort and safety.
Personalized Treatments: Based on the consultation, provide customized services that align with the client’s preferences and desired results.
Guest Comfort: Ensure that clients are comfortable and relaxed during treatments by maintaining a calming environment and offering personalized care.
Maintaining Spa Equipment and Products
Cleanliness and Hygiene: Ensure that treatment rooms, equipment, and tools are properly cleaned and sanitized after each use. Maintaining a high level of hygiene is critical to avoid cross-contamination and ensure guest safety.
Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of products (e.g., massage oils, lotions, skincare products) and inform management when supplies need to be replenished.
Equipment Care: Take care of any specialized equipment used in treatments (e.g., hot stone heaters, facial machines) and report any malfunctioning equipment to management.
Creating a Relaxing Environment
Setting the Atmosphere: Create a serene and relaxing atmosphere in treatment rooms by adjusting lighting, playing soothing music, and ensuring cleanliness.
Professional Presentation: Maintain a clean and professional appearance, including following spa dress codes and hygiene standards. This contributes to the overall ambiance and professional environment of the spa.
