Job Description

The Security Supervisor assist in managing the security function of the hotel so that its guests, associates, operations, and assets are protected and secure.

Supervision and Leadership
Lead and Manage Security Team: Oversee a team of security personnel, ensuring that each member follows established procedures, maintains professionalism, and performs their duties effectively.
Schedule Security Staff: Create and manage security team schedules to ensure proper coverage during all shifts, especially during high-risk times (e.g., evenings, weekends, or events).
Training and Development: Train new security staff on company policies, emergency procedures, and protocols, and provide ongoing development and support for existing staff.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of security staff, providing feedback, guidance, and discipline as necessary to ensure high standards of service.
Shift Supervision: Oversee the security team’s activities during their shifts, ensuring tasks are carried out correctly and resolving any issues that arise.
Safety and Security Operations
Monitor Security Systems: Ensure that security systems, such as CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems, are functioning correctly and are actively monitored during each shift.
Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular inspections of the premises, both inside and outside, to identify potential security risks, such as unauthorized access or safety hazards.
Preventive Security Measures: Develop and enforce preventive security measures, such as monitoring access points, checking credentials, and ensuring that all equipment and areas are secured.
Incident Response: Respond quickly and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, or breaches, taking appropriate action and ensuring the safety of individuals and property.
Emergency Procedures: Lead and coordinate responses to emergencies, such as evacuations, medical emergencies, fires, or criminal activity. Ensure that all security personnel are trained and prepared to handle emergencies.


Desired candidate profile

Collaboration and Communication

  • Coordinate with Other Departments: Work closely with other departments, such as facilities management, HR, and operations, to address security needs and ensure a cohesive approach to workplace safety.
  • Communicate with Law Enforcement: Establish and maintain communication with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure a quick response in case of criminal activities or other emergencies.
  • Report Writing and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on incidents, security breaches, or any irregularities, and submit them to management. Maintain accurate records of daily activities and security-related events.

Customer Service and Guest Interaction

  • Guest Assistance: While primarily focused on security, the Security Supervisor may also interact with guests, providing assistance with directions, information, or addressing concerns related to safety.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address and de-escalate conflicts, whether they involve employees, guests, or other individuals on the premises. Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times.

Compliance and Policy Enforcement

  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure that all security operations comply with local, state, and federal laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and identify vulnerabilities in the security infrastructure, recommending improvements where necessary.
  • Review Security Policies: Regularly review and update security policies, protocols, and procedures to adapt to changing risks and industry standards.
