Position Overview
KIPP Nashville seeks an experienced and knowledgeable handson Grants Accounting Manager who is responsible for managing the grants process including budgeting tracking reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the Grants Manager include but are not limited to:
Compliance
Compile review and monitor documentation to ensure compliance with grant guidelines primarily reimbursement requests and reports.
Ensure proper allocation and expenditure of all federal and private grants.
Monitor and track all KIPP Nashville staff positions and nonpersonnel expenses/projects funded through grants generating comprehensive reports for compliance with TDOE PCSC and MNPS requirements comparing budget to actuals.
Ensure the retention of grant records as outlined in fiscal policies which includes saving and maintaining all paperwork related to grants in cloud storage platforms.
Review and approve grantfunded expenses for allowability as outlined in the grant agreements (as part of the approval queue in financial systems).
Assist with procurement processes as related to grants.
Assist with revising standard operating procedures for compliant and effective grants management.
Maintain and update grant tracking files software etc.
Reporting
Create budgets and spending plans for approved and allowable grant expenses and assist with forecasting. Amend and submit approved budget revisions as needed to relevant grantors and points of contact.
Prepare and submit financial reports to school authorizers/governmental entities as required.
Reimbursements and Accounting
Monitor and track grant expenditures to ensure funds are drawn down regularly and by their liquidation deadlines.
Compile and submit documentation for grant reimbursement requests for approved expenses from federal and state grants such as Title I Title II IDEA CSP and more.
Reconcile grants payment received versus amount of reimbursement requests submitted. Research variances and propose writeoff adjustments as necessary.
Update the general ledger to accurately reflect expenditures by grant ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
Manage the recording of AR entries for grant expenditures ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition in compliance with financial standards.
Assist with grant/financial audits and prepare assigned workpapers documentation as required.
Other Financial Accounting and Reporting Tasks
Assist CFO and Controller with other accounting reports and tasks as needed including Receivables/Cash reporting.
Crosstrain/backfill other positions as necessary.
Department Representation
Communicate regularly promptly and professionally with external stakeholders such as Metro Nashville Public Schools the Public Charter School Commission the Tennessee Department of Education and the KIPP Foundation.
Assist with various KIPP events.
Participate in grantrelated training and meetings including training staff such as the DOOs.
Qualifications :

Experience in relevant field(s): accounting finance grants management and/or development
Bachelors degree or equivalent years of direct work experience
Experience with Excel (and other Microsoft programs) as well as Google Drive Docs and Sheets
Experience working with computerized financial accounting system
Experience with grants a plus
Demonstrated passion for the mission vision and values of KIPP Nashville; comfort and willingness to actively participate in the school and neighborhood community
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills

Additional Information :
Salary range is $
This position is exempt and will work and be compensated according to a 12 month administrative schedule.
This is a hybrid role. Employees will be able to work both from home and are required to come in the office periodically. Our offices are located in Nashville.

The vacation package for salaried employees includes 29 paid days throughout the 12 month work schedule (including holidays fall break thanksgiving break winter break). In addition employees in this role are allotted 15 PTO days. Eligible staff members receive payment for unused PTO days at the end of the fiscal year.
Adoption/Parental Caregiver Leave up to 10 weeks parental leave for the primary caregiver and 2 weeks parental leave for the secondary caregiver paid at 100%.
Leaders are provided with laptop computers with access to the internet and or email to assist them in performing their job responsibilities.
