Job Description

We are actively searching for an experienced Assistant Finance Controller professional to become an integral part of our brandnew property.

This position is responsible for assisting the Finance Controller in the daily operation of the Finance Department directly overseeing and assisting with accounts payable receivables and payroll operations.

You have an outcome driven approach to performance & results and you strive to achieve excellence in your field.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with all Department Heads as to cost effective measures to enhance their departments profitability.
  • Ensuring credit approval and collection policies of the Hotel are adhered to at all times.
  • Monitor and check all procedures relating to payroll for the Hotel.
  • Ensure all inhouse ledgers are constantly in balance.
  • Monitor the Debtors balance.
  • Effectively monitor and control the cash flow for the complex.
  • Effectively develop and monitor all financial systems for the Hotel with a view to improving and streamlining procedures.
  • Monitor and check all audits relating to financial standards and procedures.
  • Ensure cash handling procedures and policies of the Hotel are strictly adhered to.
  • Implement procedures to recover outstanding debts.
  • Ensure credit approval and collection policies of the Hotel are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure all payments made to the Owners are effectively reconciled and deposited on time in accordance with the relevant Management Agreements (where the Hotel is managed by Accor).
  • Assist in the preparation of Hotel Annual budgets with the Department Heads and the General Manager.
  • Accountable for the compilation of quarterly forecasting ensuring that all Department Heads have complete and equal input.
  • Assist advice and collate monthly departmental forecasts.
  • Supply all departments with accurate statistical information on a timely basis.
  • Cooperate with all other departments offering support information on finance matters as required.

Qualifications :

What we are looking for

    • Tertiary qualification in Finance and/or Accounting.
    • A minimum of 3 years previous supervisory or management accounting experience in a similar position within a large organization.
    • Experience with Payroll PAYG GST payroll Tax Workers Compensation BAS preparation Accounts Payable and Superannuation.
    • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
