NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly efficiently and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service.
The Sheriffs Office serves and enforces court mandates orders of protection warrants decrees and property seizures. Additionally the Sheriffs Office conducts criminal investigations of real property fraud tax crimes and the trafficking of illegal and untaxed tobacco products and synthetic narcotics and monitors defendants referred by the courts for electronic monitoring.
The Sheriffs Office is seeking organized reliable and motivated Customer Service Unit Managers to supervise staff performing administrative duties in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) unit related to Operation Padlock to Protect. Reporting to the BCI Director the candidates responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following.
Supervise a clerical and administrative staff performing customer service and clerical/administrative duties.
Ensure unit procedures and protocols are followed. Monitor and assess staff productivity and performance.
Responsible for oversight of daytoday operations of the unit and lead resolution of any outstanding issues.
Communicate with Department of Finance Legal Affairs to coordinate the management and project execution for final decisions consultations preparation and mailing.
Review and perform quality control for databases maintained by the unit.
Independently lead troubleshooting of any system issues with Finance IT.
Maintain consistent communication with management on unit issues that are significant or unresolved. Oversee punch list items to resolution.
Lead business requirements gathering for new Sheriff Office administrative functionality including improvements made to the field operations automation for Operation Padlock to Protect.
Perform related supervisory and management responsibilities.
Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience requiring independent decisionmaking concerning program management or planning allocation for resources and the scheduling and assignment of work 18 months of which must have been in an administrative managerial executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and five years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible experience as described in 1 above 18 months of which must have been in an administrative managerial executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
3. A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of
satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible experience as described in 1
above 18 months of which must have been in an administrative managerial
executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the
supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than
moderate difficulty; or
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 2 or 3 above. However all
candidates must possess the 18 months of administrative managerial executive or supervisory experience as described in 1 2 or 3 above. Education above
the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative
experience (but not for the administrative managerial executive or supervisory
experience described in 1 2 or 3 above) at a rate of 30 semester credits
from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3
years.
