Job Description
Visa U.S.A. Inc a Visa Inc. company needs a Staff SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Foster City CA to:
- Perform backend development. Contribute to the design of backend DBs and queries API creation and consumption.
- Work independently with minimal insight to develop software that conforms to Visas high standards of security quality performance resiliency and compliance.
- Take ownership and be responsible for the design and delivery of one or more components of a project.
- Provide oversight and guidance to team members contributing to those components.
- Independently create multiple design artifacts for projects and present designs to team members and other stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to more junior team members.
- Work with Technical Product Managers to break down solutions into smaller achievable tasks.
- Support test engineers and operation teams in troubleshooting defect research issue root cause analysis and other related activities.
- Position reports to the Foster City CA office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications:
- Employer will accept a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering or related field followed by 5 years of progressive postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineerrelated occupation. Alternatively employer will accept a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineerrelated occupation..
Position requires experience in the following:
- Core Java;
- JEE technologies; Containerbased technologies;
- SOAP or REST technologies;
- Spring development framework;
- Asynchronous programming;
- Security requirements standards and risks;
- Database technologies like Oracle and NoSQL solutions;
- Continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $158647.00 USD to $221400.00 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on jobrelated factors which may include knowledge skills experience and location. In addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
