We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow CMDB Developer to join our dynamic IT Service Management (ITSM) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) in ServiceNow ensuring that all configuration items (CIs) are properly tracked and managed across the entire IT ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and configure ServiceNow CMDB to ensure effective management and relationship mapping of Configuration Items (CIs) and their dependencies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including IT teams business units and management to define CMDB requirements and business processes.
- Develop and implement discovery tools and integrations to automatically populate and update the CMDB with accurate data from multiple sources including servers networks and applications.
- Maintain and enhance CMDB data integrity ensuring accurate classification tracking and documentation of configuration items (CIs).
- Create and manage CI models relationship types and data sources.
- Implement and support data governance processes to ensure the CMDB is regularly updated and cleaned.
- Develop custom workflows automation and service mappings in ServiceNow to improve CMDB operations and reporting.
- Create reports dashboards and performance analytics related to CMDB data to help stakeholders make informed decisions.
- Perform regular audits of CMDB to ensure alignment with ITIL standards and internal policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the ServiceNow platform and CMDB including integration issues data discrepancies and service interruptions.
- Work closely with ServiceNow admins and developers to design and enhance the platform based on the CMDB data requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to the team on best practices for managing and utilizing CMDB data.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in ServiceNow development with a focus on CMDB.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL practices and experience in implementing ITSM processes especially Configuration Management.
- Proven expertise in ServiceNow Discovery tool and Service Mapping functionality.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow Data Sources Transform Maps and MID Servers.
- Strong understanding of CMDB data models relationship types and dependencies.
- Experience with ServiceNow Scripting (Client Scripts Business Rules Script Includes etc.).
- Knowledge of REST APIs and SOAP web services for integration purposes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Experience with ServiceNow reports dashboards and performance analytics.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or equivalent certifications are preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ServiceNow Orchestration for automation of workflows and data population.
- Familiarity with JavaScript HTML and XML for customizations in ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of other ServiceNow modules such as Incident Management Problem Management and Change Management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- 3years of experience working with ServiceNow in CMDB development and management.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) or similar certifications.
