Carries out maintenance of structural metal fixtures in kitchen & laundry areas as per the scheduled maintenance program and preventive maintenance program.
Assists the engineering or landscape departments with handiwork around the hotel as required.
Responds to all guest complaints regarding the maintenance of their room or public areas in a timely manner.
Performs preventive maintenance in kitchen and laundry room.
Responds to work request or room inspection reports submitted by other departments.
Responds to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc.
Maintains working area and makes sure that all working areas remain clean at all times.
Uses personal safety wares for personal safety while on duty.
1. Equipment Maintenance and Repairs:
Kitchen Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on kitchen appliances, including refrigerators, freezers, stoves, ovens, dishwashers, microwave ovens, exhaust hoods, and food processors.
Laundry Equipment: Maintain and repair laundry equipment such as industrial washers, dryers, ironers, and steamers. This includes tasks like troubleshooting mechanical issues, replacing parts, and ensuring machines run efficiently.
Inspection: Regularly inspect kitchen and laundry equipment to detect issues before they cause failures. Check for leaks, faulty wiring, gas connections, and other safety hazards.
Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, such as cleaning filters, lubricating parts, checking electrical connections, and calibrating equipment to ensure optimal performance.
2. Troubleshooting and Diagnosing Issues:
Identify Problems: Use diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and troubleshooting methods to identify and address malfunctioning equipment. This could include mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues.
Repairs: Replace faulty parts, such as motors, pumps, thermostats, heating elements, or valves, ensuring that repairs are done quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
System Calibration: Ensure kitchen and laundry equipment are properly calibrated and running at peak efficiency, including temperature settings for ovens and dryers.
3. Installation of New Equipment:
Set-Up: Assist with the installation of new kitchen or laundry equipment, ensuring that it is set up properly, tested, and ready for use.
Configuration: Ensure that new equipment is properly connected to electrical, plumbing, and gas lines (if applicable) and is configured to meet operational requirements.
Training Staff: Provide training to staff on how to operate new equipment, ensuring they understand the maintenance and safety procedures.
4. Compliance and Safety:
Safety Standards: Ensure all kitchen and laundry equipment complies with health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards. This includes checking for safe gas and electrical connections and maintaining proper ventilation.
Emergency Repairs: Be available for emergency repairs during shifts, especially if a critical piece of kitchen or laundry equipment breaks down.
Documentation: Keep records of maintenance and repairs performed, including parts used, the time spent on repairs, and any follow-up actions. This documentation helps track the performance and lifespan of equipment.
A certificate in a specialized field such as Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration required
Current working knowledge of general maintenance and engineering work
Experience in the Maintenance Department of a hotel, hospital, ship, and/or restaurant complex or similar
Strong work ethic

Ability to work without close supervision and within established timeframes
1. Technical Skills:
Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including how kitchen and laundry appliances work, to identify, troubleshoot, and repair issues effectively.
Electrical & Plumbing Skills: Knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems to repair appliances that require electrical or water connections.
Familiarity with Equipment: Proficient with the operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen appliances and laundry machines (e.g., dishwashers, dryers, steamers, washing machines).
Diagnostic Tools: Ability to use diagnostic tools and instruments, such as multimeters and pressure gauges, to assess the condition of equipment.
2. Problem-Solving Abilities:
Critical Thinking: Ability to think critically and troubleshoot equipment problems quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
Quick Decision Making: The ability to make fast decisions, especially when dealing with malfunctioning equipment during busy periods.
3. Attention to Detail:
