Job Description

Union: CUPE TG
Site: Toronto General Hospital
Department: Facilities Management
Reports to: Manager
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Wage range: $37.33 $38.16
Status: Permanent FullTime
Shift:  Days ()
Posting Date: January 9 2025
Closing Date: January 23 2025

Duties

  • Diagnosing problems repairing and doing preventative maintenance on refrigeration/air conditioning equipment/systems and ice machines; 
  • Contributing to the efficient operation of the department; 
  • Performing other duties consistent with the job classification as required.

Qualifications :

  • At minimum completion of high school or recognized equivalent;
  • Ontario Refrigeration Mechanics License or completion of Ministry approved apprenticeship program required;
  • Licensed to handle CFSs;
  • 12 years practical and related experience required;
  • Ability to read and interpret industry related blueprints;
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.);
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards;
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multitask;
  • Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy;
  • Effective organizational interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative UHN and/or departmental policies;
  • Client service oriented with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand;
  • Ability to lift 20kg to 40kg;
  • May be required to work at multiple areas as well as rotating shifts in emergency situations.
