Duties
- Installing and maintaining electrical circuits all types of electrical equipment appliances lighting fixtures and other systems;
- Troubleshooting and testing electrical systems and electronic equipment to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components;
- Conducting preventative maintenance/repair responsibilities following quality assurance and safety procedures continually; completing work orders;
- Working in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations reporting hazards deficiencies and contraventions of the Act in a timely manner;
- Performing other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned and/or required.
Qualifications :
- At minimum completion of high school plus Electrician Apprenticeship Program or recognized equivalent;
- 5 years 9000 hours of apprenticeship training which includes approx. 8760 hours onthejob training 8 10 weeks (240 300 hours) of technical training in a classroom in each year for four years;
- 58 years practical and related experience and/or Apprenticeship 35 years on the job training;
- Construction and Maintenance Electrician 309A License required;
- Good mathematical skills;
- Good strength and manual dexterity skills;
- Ability to distinguish colors to work with colorcoded wiring;
- Ability to read and understand blueprints electrical schematics and Electrical Code Book;
- Ability to work in constricted spaces;
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines;
- Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multitask;
- Effective organizational interpersonal and communication skills;
- Client service oriented with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand;
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job: able to lift up to 60kg
