Job Description

The Mental Health Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing highquality mental health services. This role involves leadership supervision and coordination of care ensuring that all team members deliver effective clientcentered support. The Team Leader will promote best practices enhance team performance and advocate for the mental health needs of the community.  

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor team members fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional development and effective communication. 
  • Program Coordination: Oversee the implementation of mental health programs and services ensuring they are evidencebased culturally sensitive and aligned with organizational goals. 
  • Client Advocacy: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients advocating for their needs and ensuring they receive comprehensive individualized care. 
  • Crisis Management: Provide leadership during crisis situations ensuring timely and appropriate responses to clients in distress. 
  • Data Management and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate program outcomes collect data on service delivery and prepare reports for stakeholders to inform continuous improvement. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external partners including healthcare providers and community organizations to enhance service delivery and resource availability. 

Qualifications :

  • Education: General unrestricted registration by AHPRA as Registered Nurse (Division 1) and relevant Postgraduate qualification in mental health
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mental health care with prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Skills: 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team. 
  • Knowledge of mental health regulations and best practices.
